Wedding Invitations

We are currently working on a catalog of hand painted wedding invitations!  It's really been great putting together this catalog.  I worked as an artist for a high end invitation manufacturing company for 11 years until they closed their doors this past year (time to retire), and I really miss working with paper!   It's really great to design artwork for a couple and be able to use that on invitations, aisle runners, place cards, programs - you name it!  Everything coordinates and matches and just looks wonderful!
We are not quite ready to publish the new collection yet - but here's a sneak peek!

Claire's Aisle Runner

Claire had requested artwork of hydrangeas in fuschia color with lots of thick dark green leaves for her wedding aisle runner.  I sent her a few drawings and she selected this one.   Good choice!  I think the runner came out great and could not be more perfect.  I am sure it will make a major impact on the ceremony at this February wedding.  Claire please don't forget to send me pictures!

Table Number Luminary

This is absolutely one of THE coolest things that I have seen.  I was hanging out on Etsy again looking for some great ideas to show you when I saw these magical table numbers!  Wish I was throwing a nice party so that I could order these myself!
The warm glow of the light behind the vellum is just beautiful, and will be a conversation starter for your guests, I am sure.

See more at Simply FKJ 's shop on Etsy.
If you are doing a peacock theme, and would like to see how that might be used on a hand painted aisle runner, please contact me for details.   We can design something in your style and colors that would be the perfect complement for your decor when you make your Grand Entrance at your ceremony!

Personalized Card Boxes

I have been spending sometime poking around Etsy to find some interesting things to inspire me, and that I hope are interesting to you as well.  Personalized card boxes are all the rage right now, and are not only great looking, but they are really useful!  I dropped the cards more times than I care to remember at my own wedding, and I even lost a couple of them.  There is so much going on at your wedding, and you don't want to miss any of it, so this is a great way to let you be carefree.  I found EmmaLeigh Designs on Etsy and I just love these beautiful boxes.   Here are a few of my favorites from her shop:

Don't Forget the Aisle!

Whether delineating an aisle where there wouldn't otherwise be one, or adding a little zing to a plain aisle,  runners go hand in hand with the notion of TLC treatment (you know the person is a VIP when they get the proverbial "red carpet treatment").  Your wedding day is absolutely one of THE most important days of your life... shouldn't you get the red carpet treatment?    It doesn't have to break the bank!

The runner makes a huge impact on the ceremony decor, just like flowers do.  You can choose a simple monogram (prices starting at just $60 for simple monogram aisle runners in our Stylish Aisles collection), or you can have a fully embellished aisle runner, (see our Grand Entrances collection for more details).  Choose the option that suits your personal style and budget; but any way you choose, the runner is prominent.   It will be in very many of your ceremony photos, and it really is the background for when you appear at your wedding.   Set the tone of your day, and give your guests something to oogle over as they await your arrival!

Kristin's Aisle Runner

Here's the custom aisle runner that we did for Kristin's October wedding.  She selected our very popular {MONOGRAM} design in her Fall colors with ivory fabric.
Perfect touch for the ceremony!

Personalized Cake Toppers

The HandCrafted Community offers so many options for a couple to really personalize and customize their wedding to make it so special.  You already know about my wedding aisle runners, and what an impact they can have on the ceremony.  But there are countless other ideas out there, and Etsy is a really great place to see what kind of talent you can find for your wedding!  And, if you are not crafty yourself, you might not even realize the kinds of things that people can do!
I know that personalized wedding cake toppers are quite popular, and I came across a couple of artisans on Etsy that have really amazing ones.  I have a soft spot in my heart for items sculpted in clay, as I had a miniature dollhouse when I was younger, and I was always crafting something for it out of clay (food on plates, roses in the garden, etc.)  I know the painstaking detail with each tiny piece of rolled clay that goes into this stuff, so if this is an item that you would be interested in, please be sure to stop by their Etsy shops and take a look around.  The topper is sculpted into a likeness of the bride and groom, taking the dress and tuxedo into account, as well as the flowers, and any other detail that you would like included.

He Finally Called!

Isn't it the greatest feeling in the world when you are waiting and waiting to hear from him, and then he FINALLY calls?  The flutter in your stomach each time the phone rings.  And finally the excitement from just hearing his voice!   Yes - I got the call from my geek at the Geek Squad today and I am walking on cloud nine.  He told me that my computer is all fixed up and ready to go!  I just love the way he makes me feel!
So I'll be picking up my computer tomorrow, and all will be right with the universe once again.

Sweet dreams!

I'm Baaaa-aaack!

Whew!  It's been a while since I have posted, and I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!  A fresh start for everyone, and I must say that I am not one bit sad to usher out 2009!
The past few weeks have been crazy, and have certainly had their ups and downs, but the promise of a new year brings up all sorts of possibilities!
My computer is currently in the able hands of the "Geek Squad", so I am not quite back to my regular blog posting, and twitter-ing.  How did we ever get by without computers?    But those geniuses with the pocket protectors assure me that the repair will be done within the next couple of weeks, and I will be back on track in no time.

During the holiday "break" I have been working on several aisle runners, and I will be posting pics of them as soon as the electronica is back in normal functioning order.

I leave you with a few images, because I know we have all been there!
Have a great day!
